Produced only once per year.
Pronounced, lively fruity aromas of musk melon, grapefruit, pineapple & apricot. This is a heavy bodied sake, with fresh yet deep flavours of kiwi and pineapple. Hints of minerals punctuates this sake, and it finishes with a touch of pleasant bitterness and lingering heat
W by Watanabe Shuzouten is Hourai's second label. Japanese Comedy TV is played to the fermentation tanks so that the sake yeast is happy, the brewery staff are happy, and the customers are happy. Although written as a Junmai-shu, this sake qualifies as a Junmai Daiginjo as the rice used to make this sake is polished to 45%. This is not a namazake like the one released in the discovery box, as this is the pasteurised version. It is more balanced, smoother and less sweet.
